Thanks again to the Algonquin and staff. Also, both gentlemen attending our transportation to and from the hotel did us right too. Our taxis were waiting on us as we stepped out every time. We also had dinner the night we arrived. The missus had the truffle fries and house salad. I had the burger and fries. They were both excellent. Cooked right, served right and attended to dutifully with a smile. To Marriott's credit they did do a classy job of moving the Blue Bar inside the lobby/dining room. Keeping the round table and giving it a hallowed spot in a cove is pretty sweet too. We'll be back, again.

The staff were professional and very friendly, from the desk, to the valet to the waiter. Hamlet oversaw check-in, was gracious, did't say much, probably had a long day, he did tolerate gentile petting ('H', is an orange tabby). In the morning we had a top-notch breakfast with excellent coffee. The location couldn't have been better as it was barely a five minute walk to The Town Hall, where our event was. Easy! If you appreciate history, art, theater, good food and drink (+ handsome feline concierge), this is a great place for a special New York experience.

I love the period details of this property, and the staff were AMAZING! (Especially Otto, from the restaurant, and all of the doormen, whose names escape me- they were all A++ incredible!!) The rooms are clean & comfortable, the restaurant is spectacular. Everything was wonderful, can’t say it enough!

For us, the location was perfect -- safe, near many good restaurants and other places we wanted to visit. We love the history of the Algonquin, and even though the hotel has been renovated, they have tried to maintain its importance in New York's literary history.
